It's been an interesting start to 2025, which is metaphorically speaking, mapped out to be a big one personally and professionally with the culmination of projects and efforts in various areas.
Since I started Disco Dressage in 2020, music licensing has been high on my priority list at all times to ensure we operate within the parameters set by PPL PRS in the UK. It's been an ongoing conversation as the business has evolved. Fortunately, they are a consultative business themselves and have tried their best to help at each stage.
Communicating the technicalities and stipulations to my coaches is important, so today I've created a short document to guide their conversations with potential venues.
Against a backdrop of diminishing equestrian centres, it's sometimes tough to find the right disco base in a region, which works for the coach and ticks all the boxes.
It would be wonderful if there was a low-rate tariff that smaller riding schools and livery yards could purchase so that my coaches could involve them in disco dressage, bringing more joy to more people and horses. We aren't there yet. Watch this space.
